දේශීය සමාගමක නමින් හොරට මත්පැන් හදපු නිශ්පාදනාගාරයක් වටලයි.

පානීය ජල ව්‍යාපාරයක් මුවාවෙන් කඩුවෙල ප්‍රදේශයේ පවත්වාගෙන ගිය මහා පරිමාණ නීතිවිරෝධී මත්පැන් නිෂ්පාදනාගාරයක් වටලා සැකකරුවන් හය දෙනෙකු අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට බස්නාහිර පළාත උතුර අපරාධ කොට්ඨාසය සමත්ව තිබෙනවා.

බස්නාහිර පළාත උතුර අපරාධ කොට්ඨාසය වෙත ලද බුද්ධි තොරතුරකට අනුව ඊයේ (28) දින දහවල් කඩුවෙල පොලිස් වසමේ සුදර්ශන පාර ප්‍රදේශයේ සිදුකළ මෙම වැටලීමේදී, නීතිවිරෝධී මත්පැන් විශාල තොගයක් සහ එම නිෂ්පාදනය සඳහා යොදාගත් උපකරණ රැසක් පොලිස් භාරයට ගෙන තිබෙනවා.

වැටලීමේදී දේශීය මත්පැන් ලෙස ලේබල් කරන ලද මිලිලීටර් 180 බෝතල් 18,575ක් (ලීටර් 3,345.5ක්), විදේශීය මත්පැන් ලෙස ලේබල් කරන ලද බෝතල් කිහිපයක්, මත්පැන් නිෂ්පාදනය සඳහා යොදාගත් එතනෝල් බෝතල් 15ක්, නිෂ්පාදන උපකරණ සහ කේරළ ගංජා ග්‍රෑම් 50යි මිලිග්‍රෑම් 200ක්ද සොයාගෙන තිබෙනවා.
මෙහිදී සැකකරුවන් හය දෙනෙකුද පොලිස් අත් අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඇති අතර ඔවුන් විවිධ ප්‍රදේශවලින් පැමිණි වයස 30 ත් 62 ත් අතර වයස් සීමාවේ පසුවන පුද්ගලයින් බව පොලිසිය සඳහන් කරයි.

නීතිවිරෝධීව නිෂ්පාදනය කරන මෙම මත්පැන් මෙරට බලපත්‍ර ලත් මත්පැන් නිෂ්පාදනාගාරවලින් නිකුත් කරන ඒවා සේ හැගෙන පරිදි ලේබල් කර දිවයින පුරා අලෙවි කර ඇති බවට පොලීසිය සැක කරයි.

In a major breakthrough against illicit trade, crime division of western province (North) officials have busted a large-scale illegal liquor operation. The raid has led to the seizure of thousands of bottles of counterfeit alcohol, production materials, and the arrest of several suspects involved in the illicit racket.

Following a targeted intelligence-led operation, officers raided the premises used to store and package the contraband.
Authorities discovered thousands of 180ml glass bottles stacked systematically on pallets. Many of these bottles were meticulously labeled to local Sri Lankan liquor brands, while others carried forged labels designed to imitate foreign liquor.

Six Sri Lankan men, ranging from young adults to middle-aged and older individuals, were taken into custody and are currently being interrogated to trace the broader supply chain, financial backers, and the source of the counterfeit labeling materials.

Further investigations are underway, and the suspects are expected to be produced before the Magistrate’s Court shortly.
